Raised with a live world music influence, Yaksha realised a love for roots music from the very beginning, experimenting with his own productions from the age of 15. Inspired and guided by Dub Dynasty, Yaksha developed a spiritual stepper sound; Explored through the means of a soundsystem and driven by a conscious message.

Having played through the original ‘Tip-A-Tone HiFi’ and supported the likes of Lee “Scratch” Perry, the underlying aim for Yaksha remains to reflect upon the truest foundations of the culture; and, as the name literally means, to respect the natural treasures within the trees roots.

With all tracks featuring trombone from his father, Yaksha’s music represents an undeniable inherent bond.

“A real sense of positivity comes through in his production, with an aura of spirituality that flows through each track and creates an oozy, free flowing atmosphere.” – Nitelife Magazine
